I need to understand

Today, while I was checking my emails, there was a pop-up window. It was about a site, which promises to make me rich within 3 hours. The site is very descriptive and the web page design is good. It was very tempting to join the site. However I heard about lot of scam sites in the cyberspace and immediately closed the site. Generally I have the pop-up blocker but I don't know how this pop-up came up. Everyday I get lot of Spam mails which flood my inbox. I do not understand why these people want to attack the cyberspace with these kinds of programs.

Recently my family was shifted to a new location and I did not have internet access for 3 days. Then I contacted the local ISP and asked for an internet connection. He installed everything in 2 hours and I got back internet access. Immediately I logged into my email account to check my emails. I found 350 new mails and out of them 320 were these kind of spam emails. I heard in a video when Bill Gates was saying that he receives 400-500 spam emails on his inbox every day and every person in this cyberspace having an internet access is prone to spam emails.

Internet has brought a tremendous development in the field of Information Technology but at the same time there are lot of disadvantages due to the misuse. Many people are looking for ways to earn money online and these people are becoming prey to such scam sites. Some sites promise to pay money to view ads while other sites pay you money for doing certain tasks. Ultimately the end user is scammed. I have come across a few sites which have a list of such scam sites. One of the sites has the list of all scam sites and we can also add our sites to it if we find any scam sites. The other site has a list of genuine sites with the payment proof. So if anyone wants to join any online earning programs, they can go to these sites and check about the genuineness of the site. We can also check the site details in Google.

I feel that we should be very careful when we are using internet and always get updated about all the scams happening around.
