I need to understand

I need to tell you a funny story. I am going to school totake a course onwebsite design. I found this quick on line course that only takes 8 weeks to finish. As I was going through the topics on line that we were going to discuss, I noticed one topic heading was virus.

I found a virus on my computer one time, and that one time was too manyfor my comfort. A virus on a computer is something that you do not just give a pill to and tell it to go to bed. I know, that was funny. I will tell you that a virus can be very harmful to your computer.

I was watching an on-line auction one time, and all ofa sudden my computer shut down. I was wanting to bid on this neat item for my car and I was doing it on line, that is where they get the phrase on-line auction from, and was just about ready to bid another time, until my computer crashed. Well, I rebooted it and could get on to instant messenger, but that was slow. instant messaging is where you can talk to someone on the computer back and forth regardless of where this person lives. You could live in New York, while the person you are instant messaging lives in New Zealand. What a great way to communicate with people so far away.

Well, this person I was instant messaging lives in Brazil and he was watching this on-line auction also. I told him I could not get into the site, in fact the only thing I could do was talk to him and some other people. He told me it sounds like your computer has a virus. I thought to myself, well there goes the on-line auction bidding for me, and there goes money out of my pocket.

That afternoon I went to my local computer store with my computer and they looked at it, and just shook his head. We scanned the computer and it had 23 virus's on it. I was just sick to hear that, but when they told me I could pick it up in about 3 hours, I was all happy again. You know us kids can not live without our computers. Kind of like living without your cell phone!
